Yesterday I attended the Garden Fest in my town. I don't have a green thumb and know squat about plants. How sad is that??
My parents have beautiful plants around their home, and I think my Mom is a plant whisperer.
Her caladiums are the biggest and most vibrant I've ever seen.
My Daddy gave me some bulbs from my Great-Great Granny's plants caladiums,
and lets just say they haven't died but they haven't thrived here either.
My cousin has my Mom's green thumb as well, and every Easter she gives me a plant. And every year I wonder why! I'm going to blame it on the water. I really think that has a lot to do with it. My Mom collects rain water and feeds hers Peter's Plant Food. Me just whatever comes out of the hose.

So back to the Garden Fest. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!
This was the scene from across the street. These tents were various vendors that attended the show. The plants were at the other end at the old train depot.
First stop was Susan Overbo's Fine Art Photography. I'm an amateur photographer, she swore she was too. And if that is true, she is truly gifted! She has some lovely pieces and I enjoyed meeting her. That's her, she was conversing with a young patron behind the duck picture there. I'm not sure if you can see very well, but on the table are smaller version of the larger ones hanging and they are on some kind of pressed board canvas. I know the young patron selected a smaller version of the duck photo. I hope she enjoys looking at that photo for many years.
If you would like to see some of Susan's work you can visit her website.
Plant City has moved from being mostly citrus farmers, to strawberry farmers, now residents are starting blueberry farms. My husband has been wanting to get some blueberry plants and I've found the perfect place to purchase them. Berry Blue farms, the lady standing there is Patsy and she and her husband own Berry Blue Farms & Nursery LLC on the South side of town. I've known Patsy for many years and like me Patsy doesn't forget a face. I believe it has been about 10-15 years since she and I have seen each other, but we both knew we knew each other from somewhere. I love how that all works. Nice visiting with you yesterday Patsy. Hope to see you again soon. Want to learn a little more about blueberries??? Then click on the link above, she has a recipe there for a blueberry cake. I'm gonna have to try and blog about soon.
Here are some of the beautiful plants on display! The whole square was full of plants galore.
Want to have chickens?? I live in the country and we've never had chickens. I think Mr. B always had chickens growing up and really just doesn't have the desire for them here. But if we did, I would so want a Chicken Condo for them. They aren't really called Condo's but they should be, these homes are really nicely built and you don't have to worry about a wild animal getting your chickens. You can check them out just by clicking Holloway's Chicken Coops.
Want to know what drew me over to this tent?? No it wasn't the bathing suit! LOL And really it wasn't the pink and black table setup that I loved, no it was Pam's friendly greeting. She didn't have tons of people around her booth when I was there, but right before I walked up I had noticed the area was full. Usually I would have just walked right on by, because I'm not one to elbow my way to something. Boy am I happy they dispersed before I walked up. I had time to speak with Pam about her Pami Pocket and I'm in love with her product. She came up with the concept and her husband made the very first one for her. I wish her tons of success. I will be doing a product review on the Pami Pocket, be looking for it. I may just even do a giveaway so you can own your very on Pami Pocket. I know I will be purchasing some for presents for loved ones soon. If you can't wait for my product review, check out her website and follow
Pami Pockets on facebook. You will be happy you did!!
I also got to meet Karen of "Kat's Jewels" Karen has a lovely line of handcrafted glass and stone beaded jewelry. I loved looking at her pieces and getting ideas. Both Karen and her nephew were quite friendly. Karen does mostly craft fairs, so she doesn't have a site to visit just yet. But she is working on it and I look forward to letting you know soon where to visit her on the web.
So that was my morning at the Garden Fest, weather was a bit muggy. I'm so ready for FALL!!!! With it being the first day of Fall yesterday, I was wanting to feel the cooler temps. But I'm sure I'll have to wait until later in October to feel those on a more consistent basis!!
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!!
Come back and see me soon!!
