SweetTalkin' Sunday Linky Party #7

I love when Sunday rolls around so I can see what all you have been working on.
~ Thanks ~ Thanks ~ Thanks ~
for linking up all your creative ideas.
On Wednesday I will be picking at least 3 links to feature.
This is link party #7 so it may go all the way back to #1, but you all are so creative and I would like to show my appreciation by doing the feature.
Plus there will be a button to add to your blog that you were featured!

Okay I'm not going to list a bunch of rules this time.  I want to give you a chance to visit some give aways and maybe some shops that we all didn't know about.

So there is only 1 rule!
Please grab this button and add to your blog, linky list or post.
Many Smiles!!!

{SweetTalk Shop} DIY Ceiling Light Update

I don't usually have more than one post a day.
But I've been inspired by all the great DIY home improvement blog posts and pictures you see on Pinterest. I've been looking around my home seeing what I can do on a very limited budget.
Well today I tackled a very simple project that I' just thrilled with the results and can not wait until tomorrow when I can do more of the fixtures in my home.

This is what I am talking about.

This is so early 90's looking.  These lights hug our ceilings all over our home.

I bought one can of flat black paint and Ab-ra-ka-dab-ra!
I have this beautiful light hugging my ceiling in my Master Bath.
I started there in case it was a fail. No one would be the wiser but me and Mr. B.

I have to say I am thrilled and don't you think it's pretty!!??
Oh and this cost me a total of $3.06 for a can of paint, but then I will have to divid that by how many I get done with the can tomorrow. YAY!!!

{SweetTalk Shop} Decorating Tip ~ Curtains

Wow did that title catch your eye??
I tell you every time someone wants to give me decorating advice or tip I listen.
Cause decorating is not my forte'!!!  With that said, you probably wonder why I'm giving out advice Huh???

Well because I learned it from my Aunt Net (short for Annette).
And she is a Decorating Diva.
Should have had her own biz way back in the day.

Back in the summer of '08 when our current president decided all families or people should get some tax refund to jump start the economy.  Remember that??  Well Mr. B decided he wanted to use the money and get a huge flat screen tv for our living room.  So we needed an updated look!!  YAY!!

We had those vertical blinds over our french doors and the huge picture window in the dining room.  And I wanted curtains and we didn't have the extra money. So in comes my Aunt Net with her wonderful decorating advice.  So off we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to pick them out.

This is what I got.

Burgandy Flat Sheets

I love them!!!
And when I decide I want a different color, it won't break the bank.
The set cost me $16. I think we got the full size ones.

I just had to buy a rod and these hooks to hold them up. Used the same color in both rooms and I could not be happier.  When they need washing I just wash and hang back up and let them dry naturally. The reason being, since we have vaulted ceilings I had to hem the length and since I don't sew. I used the iron on webbing stuff that is sticky and I don't want that coming off.

{SweetTalk Shop} 3-2-1 Cake Update

Do you remember these sweet little cakes??

I posted the recipe here.
And yes, I still have the mix to pop one in the microwave when I get a hankering for some chocolate.
I wanted to share that tonight at the end of the cooking cycle, I added a splash of liquid coffee creamer.
Oh the yummy goodness. Even Mr. B said it gave it a richer flavor.

I used this one tonight.

But I bet a tad of Kahlua or Bailey's would be just yummy too!!

{Sweet and Easy Crafts} Cutting Board

Decorative Monogramed Cutting Board
First I designed the image, I'm sure you could even use an image of your child's art!
I went with a copper colored background
with Black Fluers and Black Monogram
It matches my Kitchen backsplash.
I bought the glass 7.5x7.5 cutting board at the "Dollar Tree"

On the backside or underneath the cutting board
I covered it with Mod Podge to hold my image on.
While MP was still wet, I placed the image and let dry.
Then I covered the image again with MP to seal.

I like it, looks good against my backsplash !

I haven't tested to see how well it has sealed. If it doesn't seal well, I will still use just for decorative purposes.  But here you see it as it is meant to be.
Don't you think it's Pretty???
The best part to me, it it cost me a whole one doll-ar!!!

Here is hoping you are having a wonderful weekend!!

{SweetTalk Shop} Blog Finds

I've said it before I read a lot of blogs
and I've featured some of the blogs I read and
I think it is time to show off some of my finds.
You may have read some of these, but I think they are worth highlighting.
So take a minute and visit them and see what else you may find on these sweet blogs.

In alphbetical order by bloggers first name.  Don't want to play favorites here.

First up is Ashlee

of
I know Ashlee personally, I sometimes attend the church that her husband and she planted
here in the Tampa Area along with Aaron's parents.
They have 2 of the cutest tow headed little boys around and with a little girl on the way.
Ashlee is a stationery designer and has some really awesome talent.
She recently launched
Click the name above to go to her Etsy site.
I will not even try to describe them, they are just too precious for words.
But I promise you will not be disappointed.
Check out her site. She is having a giveaway for one of the prints you will see in her Inspired Kids Collection.  You have until Sunday February 19th to get in on the drawing.

Now lets meet Bethany

of

Bethany is a super crafter, I have been stalking following her blog for a while.
Do you ever wonder how you came across a super blog?  I know I do.
But I think it is just clicking on something that caught my eye and
then loving what I saw and deciding I wanted to be in their company.
Bethany made  the super cute earrings you will see when you click on her link about.
So simple and just adorable.
And I have to admit that I fell in love with the name of her blog
and I had a blonde moment because for the life of me,
I could not figure out what she did to make the name of her blog.
Please don't judge me.
I found out this week I'm premenopausal so I'm blaming that
on all my shortcomings these days.
Snoop around in Bethany's blog,
I'm sure you will find lots that brings you back for more.

Eva is up next!

She blogs over at

The link above takes you to a wonderful tutorial about no reply comments.
I agree with her, I love to reply to the comments left on my blog.
And if you have your settings wrong like I did, so please don't feel bad!!
Or really if you just don't know, go check out her tutorial.
It is step by visual step on how to fix it so we can get all chummy!!
Eva is also a crafter and I have pin some of her lovelies on Pinterest.
So after you get your settings all right,
so I can chat with you then scroll all through her blog
and see how talented and informative she is!!

May I introduce Mary

of

Mary and I have become fast bloggy friends.
We share different sites to link up and our love for crafting and some really yummy drinks.
So click the link above and see all the yummy goodness.
Iced Coffee has always been a favorite, but who can afford Starbucks everyday??
Plus I'm quite sure the homemade varitey is much better.
Mary is a new blogger, but her blog has grown by leaps and bounds.
She is on fire and her blog is just the cutest around.
Mary loves frames and Hobby Lobby, and if she can show me
something simple to make and beautiful all the better.

Sarah came by my blog by request!

you can find her on
I linked on her site and then told her about my linky party on Sunday's and she did not dissappoint.
She linked up the stuff you will see when you go and visit her site.
I rushed right out and bought all the fixin's
This stuff is just what I need. Healthy and sweet.
So try you some and let me know what you think

And I end with Vivienne

She is at
I have to be honest I haven't browsed her blog much,
but her link for cleaning coffee pot caught my eye today
and I had to share her site.
I want to be able to find her again and what better way than to link her up here.
I did notice that she told how to clean stove tops too.
And the before and after pictures won me to her site to stay.
Go over and find out how to get a better tasting cup of coffee without fancy smancy cleaners.

I will be taking Friday off from Blogging!
My son, Big C, just came home from college for a long weekend
and I plan to spend an evening hearing all about the happenings since Christmas Break.
He shared some news and I will share here soon.
Remember it's a personal blog too, so you get to celebrate with us!!
It's been a while since I did any braggin on my Boys.  And hopefully Lil C will have some bragging news come Monday or the early part of next week.

{SweetTalk Shop} Craft Saturday Ribbon Glittery Bow

Can you believe it is Saturday again??
I love simple crafts! As it seems so does a lot of other people.
I want to thank everyone that pinned, commented or shared my Sweet & Easy BookMarks.
They were a hit on Pinterest!!
My blog as gotten more hits today than in the last year!
So a HUGE THANK YOU!!!!

I have to admit, I'm not a bow person.
I was blessed with 2 boys and didn't have to worry with all the foofoo ribbons and bows.
But I love seeing all the little girls dressed all sweet and frilly.

So here is my atempt at a bow.

I don't know how to sew!
That is why I have a Pinterest Board that says, "Reasons I want to learn to Sew".
I just looped ribbon back and forth,
stuck a brad in the middle,
cut the the loops and fanned out the pieces.
Hot glued the ribbon to the bobby pin,
and put some hot glue on the head of the brad and added some glitter.
 Not too bad!
Then I atempted to make one with the loops in tack.
Now I have a pin for both nieces!

{SweetTalk}Pinterest Party Craft

I LOVE PINTEREST???
Do you??
I love finding crafts, recipes, home decor, blogs, photography.  They have it all!!
If you haven't discovered Pinterest and would like an invite, leave me a comment and I will send you one.

So here is one of the ideas on Pinterest that I have been wanting to try,
and since Bethany over at Happy Homemaker Me decided to have a linky party
with ideas we found on Pinterest then what better time to start??

This is Shabby Chic Shimmering Pumpkin from one of my favorite blogs to stalk read,
 Andrea at The Cottage Market.

You can check out her lovelies here.

Andrea's Lovelies are so soft and serene looking.

What you will need. And what I had on hand, no buying craft stuff today!
Cheap fruit of veggies, glitter, paint, mod podge glue

I started out painting the pumpkin white.

after the paint dried, I applied a coat of mod podge glue and started glittering away!

VIOLA!!! My Rockin Glittery Pumpkin!!
Now I want some strawberries and red red glitter!!
Please don't judge the work by the yucky stem.
That was my impatience/forgetfulness to put glue on bottom.
