{SweetTalk Shop} Sweet & Easy Craft Saturday

OMGoodness it has been a week since I posted!!!
I have been so busy with my full-time job
(we are getting ready for an internal audit, YIKES)
that I have neglected my true passion my sweet little blog
and my blends (blog~friends, Thanks Teri).

Oh well I'm back and it is Easy Peasy Crafty Saturday!!!
I love to read and usually never have a bookmark handy,
so I'm one of those that grab anything to mark my page.
I would never dream of turning the corner down.
That is a NO-NO in my home.
One of my real pet-peeves.
And I support our local library because I hate to spend money on a book,
money is used for crafts!!!
And my Nook is used as a mini computer rather than for reading.

Okay I hear ya, here is my EPC (Easy Peasy Craft)
DIY Bookmarks.
This idea is probably all over Pinterest,
but I swear I needed someting easy and thought I will do this.
Really there are no real new craft ideas out there,
just copies with our own special twist. Right???

I used Jumbo paper clips in pastel colors.

Pretty ribbons

Fold in half and loop through the single end of paper clip!! Easy Peasy!!

What a great little gift for the book lover!

I love it!!! Don't you???

  2. Those are so cute! I have dozens of bookmarks that I can never find when I want them. I'm thinking a bowl of these upstairs and another downstairs would solve the problem. Thanks. Pinning this.

  3. I am the same way -- I have a really cute template for a dragon corner bookmark for kids that's super cute and some others. I need to make one of these paperclip ones for myself!

  28. I just found you through Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. These are a terrific idea. I can see using them as Stocking stuffers at Christmas, with gift cards throughout the year, etc. . . I also love your blog and am now following you. Thanks for sharing!

  29. How do you get the ends to not fray? I made one real quick and it is already starting to unravel.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can QUICKLY run the ends over a match or lighter flame. Most ribbon ends will MELT and then harden just enough to keep them from fraying. (Actually, I do this to the ends of all of my pointe shoe ribbons (a ballet dancer) so they don't unravel....but you've got to be quick or it will melt too much and leave an ugly hard black melted ribbon end. - Be ready to blow it out. Some ribbons do better than others. Practice and play with it first!) Hope it helps! Beth

  30. Anonymous ~ It could be your ribbon. I've never had a problem with fraying, I just cut at an angle and loop through the clip.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm confused... how do you tie them on there so they wrap around the clip like that?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ashley, you insert the two open ends through the clip and then back through the loop of the ribbon end and pull tight. Hope this helped!

  32. What size are these clips and where did you get them?

    1. They are just 2 inches and I think I picked them up at Staples.
