A Few Things I Really Like

Here are a few things I really like LOVE that have nothing to do with parties or designing,

but at some point in the days, weeks, or years to come will bring me joy.

Here are the results in no particular order!!! (YES!!! I've been watching the X~Factor for a few weeks.

Fried Okra!!!  I like it deep fried with ranch dressing or skillet fried almost burnt!

I like it right out of the can!!! We used to make a lot of homemade ice cream here and every time I opened the can my boys would here. "I just love this stuff!!!'  Recently the hubby and I got in a tif and I proclaimed to him in a text that I Love him and even more than Sweetened Condensed Milk!!  What was that fight about??? Neither of us remembers!!

PUPPIES!!!  I love them all!!! As a young girl a beagle was my first puppy! And It~Zer was his name oh!!

Oh is my heart at home in the North GA Mountains!!! I love the air, the scenery, the leaves, the small towns, the winding roads, the waterfalls, the cabins!!  I need to move!!  Maybe one day!!

This is an everyday staple in my home. We love NCIS!!!  And I'm starting to like Sons of Anarchy, but hate that it comes on so late.  So we watch NCIS reruns everyday!!!  Love me some GIBBS!!!

I decided to participate in a ornament swap with the Lovely Ladies, Melissa of Truly Chic Inspirations and Meli of Blush and Jelly. I was a little apprehensive because I am never really a fan of my own creations. I think other people do a lot better work than myself, but I wanted a new decoration for my tree and what better way to get it than to participate.  Also what a great way to make a new friend in the process and maybe 2 if we weren't paired up and the gal I'm sending my ornament to isn't turning around and sending me one in return.

A New Look for Christmas

I thought a new look for the Christmas Season would be fun!

I'm thinking of changing the color scheme just a bit once the holidays are over

and thought I could play around with some color combos and see what I come up with.

Do you agree or do you think I should keep it the bright Pink and Green?

And sometimes when I have FREE time I love to read.  I read it all, so don't expect the books to all be of your liking.  I am awaiting the arrival of a book from an author that I asked would she mind being my first book review. She was thrilled that I asked and I'm excited to read the book as soon as I get it in the mail. So Mail woman don't even think about holding it ransome.

Cookie Dough Save

This is a warning!!!

First off please don't rupture a gut laughing too hard as you are gazing at the below picture. 

I'm really not sure what happened. Baking really is not my forte, but I try.  These babies look like the very first cookies I baked as a new wife. And I almost needed therapy after that fiasco.

But knowing what I did wrong helped me to just laugh at my mistake and learn that softened butter means room temp and not melted. 

With that said, I have searched the WWW to realize my mistake this time must have been in my wanting to not have to mix 2 batches seperately and getting in a hurry. WWW says in my mixing efforts that I whipped in too much air and the fact I mixed for longer softened the butter even more. Who knows, maybe I just needed reminding to watch more Paula Deen.

I think I was able to save! My oldest is coming home with some college buds and I will get their take on the later or what I call Cookie Dough Save which was suggested by a dear friend, Ms Peggi Slappey, to turn my remaining cookie dough into a cookie bar.

So without further a do!!

{SweetTalk} 25 Years and Counting!

10 days ago (November 1st) Bryan and I celebrated 25 years of being married!!

Where in the world has time gone?

We have been through so much together, from the birth of our 2 sons,

the building of our first and only home. 

Countless jobs, his one and mine there are too many to count.

 Lots of cars and a few trucks.

Pets that we have loved and lost.

My many hairstyles and colors. 

 Medical problems for both, many more on my part but we have stuck together through it all.

And we still laugh together!!

I love you honey!! And here is to 25 years more of sharing life with you!
