So I decided to play a long.
1. egg nog or hot chocolate? I have never tasted egg nog so I have to say hot chocolate! My hubby makes the best! Now I want some on this cool FL night. It is going to dip down to the 45° range!!! YAY
2. does santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped now, He used to leave most of them just under the tree.
3. colored lights on tree/house or white? White. And I like my house decorated, but the last few years I have been a slug and it hasn't gotten done.
4. do you hang mistletoe? Nope. It hangs in the tree outside.
5. when do you put your decorations up? When I get the urge. And it hasn't hit me yet this year. My friend Tammy says why bother now?? Tammy was a little late getting hers up this year too. Cody will be home the weekend maybe we will get it done then.
6. what is your favorite holiday dish? Sweet Potato casserole. It is a dessert in its self. Oh yeah and my Aunt Net's POTATO SALAD!! The best. But I have to admit, my moms was pretty spectacular at Thanksgiving too. Do you think there is some competition going on?? Nah, my mom just likes to make me happy!! Love you MOM!!
7. favorite holiday memory as a child? I like them all. Anytime I could be with all my cousins was pure joy. I love them all and miss them all too!! Especially my cousin Shannon.
8. when and how did you learn the truth about santa? I don't recall. But I do remember my cousin Shannon was pissed when I told him he wasn't real. He thought I was a retarded girl.
9. do you open a gift on christmas eve? We spend Christmas Eve with my hubby's parents and always open gifts that evening. It is a wonderful tradition.
10. how do you decorate your christmas tree? With ornaments made by my boys, and myself through the years. Also, ones given to us over the years.
11. snow! love it or dread it? snow???? What is snow?? It is something I only dream of. We had snow in Central FL back in 1976.
12. can you ice skate? Yes, nothing to write home about, but I can make it around the rink without falling.
13. do you remember your favorite gift? when I was younger a green phone from my parents and then my hubby gave me a Minolta camera back before digital and now we are picture poor.
14. what's the most important thing about the holidays for you? My family!! And remembering that we are celebrating the birth of CHRIST!
15. what is your favorite holiday dessert? my mom used to make peanut butter balls (Which I now know are called buckeyes.) and divinity that was always yummy as a youngster and I love snowball cookies my MIL makes.
16. what is your favorite holiday tradition? I'm not big on doing the same thing over and over and over. lol So as long as my family is together we are happy!!
17. what tops your tree? An Angel that my hubby's Aunt Anis made for us. She is really sweet.
18. which do you prefer: giving or receiving? giving. even though I don't like shopping. It is about finding something that makes the other person happy.
19. candy canes: yuck or yum? They make pretty decorations. But I don't really eat them much.
20. favorite christmas show? ??? I don't really watch tv much.
21. saddest christmas song? The little drummer boy.
22. what is your favorite christmas song? ??? I don't really listen to music either. And just in case you don't know. I don't hear well so it is frustrating trying to figure out the words. And if I have to have CC on the TV I would just rather read a book or catch up on my blog reading.
